Airdate: 2013 Academy Awards

Nine airs the Oscars live around the country with a primetime replay as well.

2013-02-15_1307This year Nine has the exclusive broadcast rights to the Academy Awards, after the demise of Movie Network channels.

The 85th Oscars are hosted by Seth MacFarlane.

Once again Nine will play this Live to air right around the country at 12:30pm AEDT, on Monday February 25th.

There’s also a primetime replay from 9:30pm.

Today will be on the spot with Lisa Wilkinson, Richard Reid and Richard Wilkins doing red carpet reports, followed by Wilkins also doing the Live crosses for Mornings and Nine Morning News.

An Oscars edition of Extra will air at 12 noon.

Today will also feature Wilkinson, Reid and Wilkins with Live reports with Aussie guests, and hopefully some winners, the next day.

  1. Yay, so excited! However, I was slightly annoyed last year that the later “replay” did not include the red carpet arrivals. For those of us who work during the day, the replay at 9:30pm is the only time we get to watch. As an Awards Season Nerd, I was so excited last year, I got home from work (somehow made it through the day without hearing any news), made myself diner, sat down to tune in at 9:30pm for what I thought would be at least 30 minutes of red carpet festivities before the night kicked off, and it just went straight to the ceremony! While I do love the ceremony, the red carpet arrivals is just a bit of light-hearted fun to ease into the night.. I’m guessing the same thing will happen again this year (though I hope I’m wrong).. Anyway, what gives, Nine?? This never used to happen!
