Another Aussie actor is headed for US television.
Luke Mitchell, who plays Romeo Smith on Home and Away, has been cast in The CW’s remake of The Tomorrow People.
Based on the series created by Roger Price, the drama revolves around several young people from around the world who represent the next stage in human evolution, possessing special powers, including the ability to teleport and communicate with each other telepathically.
Mitchell will play John Young, described as dark and handsome and cool under pressure. His speciality is teleportation and he’s instrumental in recruiting other gifted people to the group, who work to defeat the forces of evil.
Mitchell previously appeared in H20: Just Add Water and Neighbours and announced his departure from Home and Away in November.

Good luck to him, a good young Aussie actor!
@Tvf, I can tell you first hand “Home and Away” is exactly 14 weeks ahead.
He can’t act to save his life but i liked his character on H&A. So good luck to him.
I watched The Tomorrow People years ago…think it was suppose to be a young persons show…but I really enjoyed it…hope the new one does not mess around with the concept too much.
Does anyone know the time difference between filming and airing of episodes on home and away?
Good on him! I went to high school with him on the Gold Coast – such a nice guy!
That’s great news in a tough market to break into. He should have been in “Next Stop Hollywood”. We’ll have to wait to see if the pilot gets picked up. Arrow’s Stephen Amell’s cousin Robbie is also cast in this pilot so it could also be called The Beautiful People.
