  1. @Pete
I’d have gone a 7pm start for The Biggest Loser personally. The race should finish around 6.30ish, so 6.45 is a tight start. I’d imagine it’ll be more than 7pm.

The F1 pulled in 1.4 million eyes last year, a number Ten are getting over their entire schedule a night now, not for one show. Sunday is Ten’s chance to boost themselves a bit personally.

  2. @ glenn c

I think it is a mistake having the premiere of Biggest Loser at 6.45 – heaps of reality lovers will have already started watching The Block given it is the last week of that show. Why 6.45? Do they spray champagne on the winner of the F1 at 6.30?

    @bettestreep2008

Not a bad line up except that Africa finshes next Saturday and your line up will only rate well assmuing all the other stations have the test pattern. Otherwise, you can expect Ten to struggle with New Girl, the Bondi’s have both had their day, Before the Game is only for AFL states and American Idol has no viewers

  3. Think it will be interesting to see what the F1 does to the ratings next Sunday. WIll give The Biggest Loser the biggest lead in its going to get.
Hopefully it keeps most of its viewers for TBL and the final of Masterchef Pro instead of them going to The Block or Sunday Night.

  4. @Damien The numbers for the NRL yesterday are for a game that aired at 4pm on an hour delay. It would draw more if it was on at 3pm I’m sure.

  5. bettestreep2008

Sacs – I totally agree with you. MF and BR used to rate very well but now on Sunday nights they are being thrashed.

    Here’s what I’d do;-

    Move Africa to 6.30 Sundays.
Sunday, Monday and Tuesday 7.30pm – TBL
Wednesday 7.30pm – MF and New Girl
Thursday 7.30pm – Bondi Vet and Rescue
Friday 7.30pm – Before the Game and then Living Room.
Saturday 6.30pm – 2 hours of American Idol.

  6. The numbers for the Sunday night football are very good. I don’t know a lot about rugby league but from my understanding those two teams aren’t exactly big draw cards.

I have been going on about this for a while now, but rugby league has once again proved that they are smarter than the AFL when it comes to fixturing. Sunday night NFL in the US is huge and it doesn’t take much to work out that far more people are at home on Sunday night than on Friday night.

Sunday night will become the marquee standalone game in years to come. The AFL will follow rugby league’s lead because they will have no choice.

  7. Brand new Modern Family episodes rated 4th in the 7pm timeslot, proving beyond all reasonable doubt that the programming monkeys at TEN have absolutely no idea. Also agree that TEN is wasting the Attenborough documentary on Saturdays at 6:30pm.

  8. Secret Squirrel

@shazz – I agree somewhat but it’s also the time that it’s on for me – 6:30 on a Sat just doesn’t work, I’m doing other things.

  9. @ Shazz

Saturday night for Africa is not going to get as good a numbers as Sunday night for Galapagos not matter what station has it.

Ten erred in not showing it on Sundays at 6.30 – it would have rated really well even against the opposition if the ABC can get nearly 1 million which was a tremendous result in anyone’s langauge.

  10. Modern Family is up against The Block and Sunday Night.

The ABC would show Africa on Sunday would be why they would get better ratings. Africa doesn’t fit with what Ten is targeting on Sundays.

Personally I prefer Galapagos because it is more like the old Attenborough documentaries with science and explanation. The BBC ones these days are all about being pretty and cute baby animals.

  11. The ratings for DAs Galapagos just shows that Attenborough’s documentaries belong on the BBC as Africa just is not getting those kind of ratings on TEN, despite Africa being a big budget BBC series while Galapagos is a shorter less fancy Sky series.

  12. New episodes of Modern Family are down on past numbers – I must admit I still love the show but it is not as good as past seasons.

The Mentalist numbers are more suited to being shown at 9.30 – Nine need House Husbands back and pronto.

  13. bettestreep2008

Super Sunday looks like not being very super at all.

Shame – Enjoyed BR, MF and MCP and all of them were walloped by the woeful Block.
