10 Comments:

  1. Another good episode of Downton last night.

Sunday night is becoming one of my sunday night shows to watch. It was a great story that Melissa Doyle did with Steve Waugh and his charity work yet on 60 minutes you get Clive Palmer going on about his money and building the titanic because he has so much money he cant keep up with it. Well there are a few things you could do with it.

Interesting to see MC professionals tonight with Curtis Stone on it. He tends to bring in viewers.

  2. @ Pertinax

Ten would be happy with Elementary – they are good numbers for them. It is The Mentalist that is struggling but would probably do better on any other night.

I don’t agree with you always adding the Timeshifted numbers in to make the total OK. Advertisers and therefore networks could not care less how many people record and watch it later.

I agree with David that the timeshifted data is interesting reading and I thank him for including it but serves no other purpose, in my opinion. Hits and misses are judged on the overnight figures alone.

  3. Channel 10 tried NCIS on Sunday at the end of last year when they had nothing else to put on against House Husbands, Midsomer Murders and the half a dozen Channel 7 shows tried in that slot. It rated under 500k, half what it was on Tuesday.

The Mentalist got 610k (513+97) last week on corrected +7 figures. The overnights will be more like 550k adjusted for last night.

  4. I’m guessing Ten would be happy with Elementary’s figures. It’s no. 2 in its slot. I’d be more concerned about The Mentalist (fourth).
MC Pro came third in a very competitive slot, Kevin McCloud came fourth with 786k.

Ten is getting flogged in the ratings but haven’t really got much choice. I don’t see how they could make their Sunday night line up much stronger? NCIS is about the only other show they have left.
I’m guessing The Simpsons at 6pm might be the next mercy kill for Ten?? Maybe move the news to 5.30-6.30 every night?

  5. It make have taken viewers a while to find The Block on Sunday nights, but now they have the room reveals are doing great.

    @PJ Ronin
There are still a lot of older viewers who leave the TV on the ABC on Sunday and Monday nights. It may be a case of which infotainment programme they hated least.

The Mentalist figures will be inflated by an 8 minute overrun they didn’t put in the EPG.

  6. McCloud’s ‘man cave’ program is one of the most amateurish programs I have watched… it’s certainly no up to the standards of Grand Design. And yet it continues to pull reasonable viewing numbers and I do not for one minute suspect that the audience is made up of 19-35 yo (or whatever the current target young age group definition is).

Is there a message in these numbers? Do the FTA execs care?

  7. bettestreep2008

Bondi Rescue and MF are being destroyed on Sunday nights.

Hopefully they’ll be rescheduled on a weeknight at 7.30pm when TBL returns.
