  1. @IheartABC – It’s not a state funeral, it’s “A memorial service for…colleagues from Nine, politicians and those in the media” being held in Sydney Town Hall. Of course there will be politicians, as that’s the circle he moved in.

  2. It’s all very sad and he reported for 9 for a very long time – but a public service? It’s not like he was Fred Hollows. He reported the news.
Am I missing something? Was he a closet philanthropist?

  3. @nicks – TEN broke the news near the end of their Saturday night bulletin (as news had just been received), Seven Sydney ran a full obit in their News and in other programs, ABC ran same obit pieces which appeared to be clean from Nine. WIN NSW also ran same in their own News. All of his colleagues from all networks and other media have paid tributes, with the Sydney Sunday Tele giving him front page plus a double spread inside. Yes his daughter is Dep. Editor, which is irrelevant.

  4. Don’t watch Seven much so asking this not rhetorically.Has Seven made much mention of Harvey since his death..on Sunrise or newscasts?Like to think that though rivals, there would be a sense of respect and admiration at a time like this, towards a fellow professional.Checked a few of Seven’s personalities’ tweets lately..not found anything..nor any word from Stokes.Only saw Natarsha Belling, from a rival, with a nice tribute. Will be interesting to see who attends today. There comes a time when differences get put aside and hope this is one for the media in this country.
