Seven wraps up ratings streak

Seven now has six ratings weeks under its belt this year.

2013-03-24_2334Seven ended six straight wins in the 2013 ratings race on Saturday, as we enter two weeks of Easter non-ratings.

But Nine has been stockpiling new shows to launch out of Easter, just as My Kitchen Rules comes to an end.

Nine won key demos 16-39, 18-49 and 25-54.

Seven won Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday. Nine won Sunday, Wednesday and Thursday. ABC beat TEN every night except Sunday.

My Kitchen Rules was again best for Seven, as high as 1.76m viewers with other shows Packed to the Rafters (1.35m), Downton Abbey (1.28m), The Force (1.19m), Revenge (1.16m), Seven News (Sun: 1.15m, weeknights: 1.12m) and Border Security (1.01m).

The Block: The Winner Announced was the week’s #1 at 2.15m viewers. Other Nine shows were 60 Minutes (1.2m), Nine News (weeknights, Sun: both 1.1m), ACA (929,000), Big Bang Theory (highest 815,000) and The Footy Show (814,000).

David Attenborough’s Galapagos (949,000, Making of: 859,000) was best for ABC1 then Australian Story (889,000), ABC News (weeknights: 887,000, Sun: 874,000), Inspector George Gently (867,000), Midsomer Murders (828,000) and The Doctor Blake Mysteries (800,000).

FIA Formula One: Race led TEN’s week with 1.23m viewers followed by MasterChef: The Professionals (988,000), The Biggest Loser (launch: 814,000), NCIS (758,000) and TEN News (597,000).

Gourmet Farmer (319,000) was best on SBS ONE then Food Safari (274,000), The Great British Countryside (271,000), Who Do You Think You Are? (241,000), Yotam Ottonlenghi’s Meditteranean Feasts (232,000) and History Cold Case (220,000).

Ratings resume Sunday April 7th.

  1. I’m not sure if Nine’s stock pile is all that great, haven’t they learnt people will go else where if they are forced to wait too long for shows the constantly promote. Its like a big beacon ‘this show is great’.
