  1. @Kas

None of the networks will ever disclose an accurate finishing time for such reality shows, simply because too many more may simply tune in for the last 15/20 minutes and possibly effect the rating numbers for the entire show, plus there is absolutely no disincentive not to stuff viewers around, given ACMA’s usual inaction regarding EPG’s.

It is indeed shameful, that for years the networks stuffed the print media with inaccurate programme information etc., where today they have not only got 100% worse with that aspect, they are treating the EPG’s with exactly the same disregard.

  2. @steviem agree with you there, i reckon alot will tune into the first episode just because its one of those shows that is so bad its good (trash tv),then the novelty wears off & people switch to something more sensible.
MKR final winners reveal was a letdown as it was last year, partly because of the pre recording thing, & also they don’t even interview them afterwards or anything. After they extend out the rest of it as much as possible the ending is just over too quickly.

  3. @kas
Why would you even do that? It won’t happen and 7 have just killed off a really great show this year “Revenge”. It was unstoppable and now it is sitting around a million per episode

  4. I actually complained to C7 re the EPG issue. Their response “we are aware of it and our technicians are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible.”
Make of that what you will…….

  5. @Jason, Thanks for that. Would’ve missed C Splash tonight if you hadn’t pointed that out. I’m sure it’s going to be car crash TV, and I may be nuts but I still want to be able to say “I saw that”!

Not sure that Ch9 should win most of the weeks for the remainder of this year as Ch7 still seem to have the better variety of shows. Ch9 depends on copious eps of 2/1/2 men and specials like block, apprentice etc.

  7. Whilst Dan and Steph deserve their 250,000, network 7 definitely do not deserve their recod rating numbers for MKR.

So what is network 7s next record breaking numbers target?

Could it be 7 is chasing a record of the number of viewers it can insult, with it’is ncreasing use of yhe EPG “TBA” classification?

    1. Coding The Winner Announced (and they all do it) is a bit like getting a peak anyway. It’s a short portion designed to be a snapshot of the moment that matters in order to get the headline the next day. But for the record the actual peak was 3.303 million.

  8. I personally think Celebrity Splash will be Celebrity Crash. I am a Seven fan but this show is the newest of lows. Plus pushing Revenge back a further 30 minutes? Tonights Revenge is the big one and they kill it to 9:30pm. Bad form Seven. One of the few US shows still rating well and they push it back.

  9. A Place to Call Home was brilliant and its already got me hooked.

I don’t have much respect for MKR given that its drawn heavily on contrived personalities and drama this year, as well as oversaturation of ads and always running extremely overtime.

Never expected such a strong number for The Voice up against the MKR final – it should rate through the roof without the competition tonight.

  10. @steven – Yes, as I posted elsewhere, Prime (Sthn NSW) was “TBA” all night. Had to set my PVR manually, allowing overrun of 30 mins (LOL), to catch (no pun intended) “Mrs Biggs”. I never, never rely on the EPG.
Tonight Prime has “Revenge” at 9pm (no – it’s 9:30 – or so). No mention of “C Splash” this week, only TBAs where it’s supposed to be, so PVRs won’t auto record it from the EPG.

  11. amazing ratings for MKR and if you include the regional viewers in the survey its nearly 5 million viewers nationally . just amazing for a cooking show .great final and its great to see such a nice couple win it as well.

  12. Did anyone else in a regional area miss the final MKR or the new “A Place To Call Home” because Prime7 in their wisdom, had both shows in the EPG as “TBA”?

I’ve arrived home from a nightshift at work ready to sit down and watch both (having avoided until now hearing who the winners were) only to find my Topfield PVR failed to record either show.

I can still access last night’s EPG and there’s a big blank – with “TBA” – where both shows should have been listed.

Unless I can find a repeat of “Place” somewhere this week, that’s a whole new series I won’t be watching on FTA.

  13. I dont know what it tells us more about Meet the Press or The Bolt Report. I think both are crappy shows but one easily out rates the others. If the Bolt Report is on the edge Meet the Press should be axed.
