2.95m watch Dan & Steph win My Kitchen Rules

Just like Dan and Steph Mulheron, they will popping champers today at Channel Seven.

A whopping 2.95m watched the moment the pair were announced as winners of the Reality cook-off series, the biggest ratings numbers since last year’s AFL Grand Final. It eclipsed last year’s winner announced at 2.89m and becomes a new series record.

They are extraordinary numbers, not far behind The Voice winner announced last year (3.24m), 2012 AFL Grand Final (3.20m) and  The Block winner announced last year (2.97m).

The bulk of the night also averaged a huge 2.15m. That helped A Place to Call Home launch to an impressive 1.77m viewers. The show didn’t get underway until 8:44pm despite MKR being a pre-recorded show.

But it wasn’t all bad news for Nine with The Voice still stumping up with an excellent result too: 1.98m viewers, without batting an eyelid.

Seven network share was 39.9% then Nine 30.9%, TEN 13.1%, ABC 11.6% and SBS 5.0%.

Seven’s other shows were Seven News (1.54m) and Mrs Biggs (617,000).

Nine News was 1.48m for Nine then 60 Minutes (1.33m), The Mentalist (656,000) and CSI (449,000).

Elementary (685,000) was TEN’s best showing on a tough night. Next were Modern Family (591,000), The Biggest Loser (581,000), TEN News (499,000), Bondi Rescue (474,000), The Simpsons (422,000) and Graham Norton (355,000).

ABC News (758,000) led ABC1 followed by Doctor Who (725,000), Call the Midwife (640,000), Compass (342,000), Miranda (341,000), The Boffin The Builder The Bombadier (333,000).Parkinson: Masterclass was just 133,000.

Treasures of Ancient Rome was 354,000 on SBS ONE then The Fabric of the Cosmos (247,000), The Pig Farm (190,000) and World News Australia (177,000).

ABC2’s Octonauts (238,000) topped multichannels.
