ABC, TEN comedies hit as The Voice takes 2m viewers.
Ratings: Reality juggernauts hit Tractor Monkeys, Mr & Mrs Murder and ABC's Elegant Gentleman.
After The Voice entered the fray this week, MKR has had to settle at around 1.4m viewers, but that audience has remained loyal rather than continue to diminish.
Nine again won the night with a network share of 36.5% then Seven 30.4%, ABC and TEN tied on 14.3%, SBS was 4.6%.
But there were big problems for ABC from 8:30 and TEN from 7:30pm, including for new local content.
Nine News was 1.29m for Nine and ACA was 1.18m, The Following dipped to 816,000, then Hot Seat (683,000) and What’s Your Emergency? (342,000).
Seven News was 1.15m for Seven then Today Tonight (939,000), Home and Away (860,000), Criminal Minds (778,000), Deal or No Deal (490,000) and Last Resort (338,000).
ABC News was 855,000 for ABC1 followed by 7:30 (639,000), Shaun Micallef’s Mad as Hell (571,000) and Grand Designs (397,000) at 6pm. Tractor Monkeys was 371,000 at 8:30pm, Would I Lie to You? was 296,000 and new sketch comedy The Elegant Gentleman’s Guide to Knife Fighting slipped to just 292,000.
TEN’s best was TEN News (683,000) then The Project (468,000). But Mr & Mrs Murder fell to 463,000. The Good Wife was 387,000, while Modern Family was unacceptable with 306,000 / 289,000 at 8pm / 7:30, and The Simpsons was 300,000. For the record the 4:30pm screening of The Bold and the Beautiful was 452,000 often beating TEN’s primetime shows.
SBS ONE was also soft with World’s Most Dangerous Roads (187,000), World News Australia (164,000) and Immigration Nation (144,000).
Neighbours led multichannels with 303,000.
