On Twitter she said “It’s been a hoot (of) a week- thanks to all!”

There’s a bit of irony given it was Sonia Kruger who took over as host of Big Brother (maybe Gretel could co-host Dancing with the Stars!).

‘Gretski’ is one of Mornings regular panel members but it would be great to see more of her on our telly (Can of Worms appearance please?).

I’d suggest she is still much-loved for her smarts and ability to work L-i-v-e.

  3. I love her. She’s great! I have really enjoyed Mornings this week.

    She should be on TV a lot more than she currently is. The short appearances on Mornings that she usually does isn’t enough.

  4. great to see Gretel back on daytime tv as a host. Hope she get’s a more pernanent role in the near future. She did have a regular role on The Midday Show in the early 1990’s (aka – before her ”’Big Brother fame”).

  5. OMG I am so bummed I didn’t know she was co-hosting mornings! I love love love Gretel so much! Glad to see many others sharing the love in the comments 🙂 I was beginning to think I was the only person in the world that misses her on a regular tv spot. I agree with everyone else calling for her to have her own show too. I may be wrong but did she leave BB to spend more time with kids???

  6. I’ve enjoyed seeing Gretel on Mornings this week. I actually liked her hosting Big Brother, despite a lot of people slagging her off. I used to enjoy her on Good News Week all those years ago, always found her funny and entertaining.

  8. I stumbled across Mornings the other day and could;not turn off. Its a crime she has not her own show. She would make a great tonight show host if any network had any vision.

  9. I didn’t catch Gretel on Mornings unfortunately, however, she is certainly missed on Big Brother. Sonia did an admirable job hosting but Gretel owned the stage when hosting live shows. Her skills were certainly highlighted when she was replaced by Kyle & ‘kiss of death to any tv show she appears on” Jackie O who floundered like fish out of water.

  10. Totally agree David! Was I was watching Anzac coverage and flicked over and was like omg so I stayed with mornings with 9. She is still a pro too:)

  13. I totally agree with you David, Gretel is an intelligent women who can think quick on her feet. I would also like to see her doing more documentaries, I saw one she did with her two children in Africa years ago and it was interesting and insightful.

    I think she has also written a number of children’s books, very busy lady.

  19. I’ve said it once and i’ll say it again – Gretel should have been hosting the new Big Brother on 9.

    People would have loved to see her back, brought some familiarity back to the show and she would have made it amazing.

    I’m not saying Sonia is a bad host or anything but Gretel has a great ability to interview people and work live amazingly.
