New Zealand’s TVNZ has signed a pre-sale deal for Foxtel’s upcoming Wentworth series.
The reimagining of Prisoner centres on the early days of Bea Smith (Danielle Cormack) and is Foxtel’s most anticipated local drama since Killing Time.
The FremantleMedia series will also be launched at MipTV in Cannes next week.
It premieres on SoHo on May 1st.

What about Battlestar Galactica!
I’m hoping this turns out well.
Yes looking forward to this. At least it is on the basic tier of Foxtel.
this is going to be the biggest fail ever. nothing that has been re imagined has really worked.
they are using new actors to play original characters instead they should have mixed the old with the new and picked the show up 20 years from where it ended .
Ah revenge for Go Girls!
Soho shows as many ads as any other channel.
and to think this series only came about because someone at 111Hits had the vision to replay the original series at 630pm when Ten moved Neighbours to Eleven … and surprise surprise – it rated!
This is good and I hope the show lives up to the hype, just wish it was on FTA but at least on SOHO we know it’s not going to be canned if it doesn’t rate and they will show it at a consistent time and not 15 minutes late & full of ads!
