Oops. MKR ad gives away Comeback Kitchen winner.

Seven revealed the winner of their Comeback Kitchen challenge in a promo before the episode had finished airing.

2013-04-21_2232Social Media lit up last night after Seven inadvertently aired an advertisement for the My Kitchen Rules Grand Final next Sunday revealing Mick and Matt had returned to the game -in the middle of the Comeback Kitchen episode.

That gave away the ending of the episode to fans who were still watching to see if Angela and Melina or Sophia and Ashlee might return.

On Twitter, viewers vented their anger at Seven:

Channel7 next time you decide to run a promo 4 GF wk on MKR wait til come back kitchen is over!You spoiled it 4 us!

It was nice of @Channel7 to ruin #MKR 40 minutes into a 2 hour episode. Show the winner on a advert for #MKR this week? Lame.

@Channel7 you don’t need a red nose to be a clown.. #MKR #comebackkitchen #grandfinalgiveaway

Wtf??? Channel 7 you do this all the time and ruin the show #mkr

They played that ad all they the show!!!! #spoiler during the whole thing!! Stupid #mkr #channel7

Ch 7 gives away MKR end in ads: SOCIAL media users have blasted Channel 7 for giving away the ending of My Kitchen Rules

  1. Interesting that no one cared a couple of weeks ago when Angela and Melina were eliminated.

    The ad break prior to their elimination, Ch 7 (Adelaide) ran a commercial advertising a new rivalry between Joanna and Jenna and Sophia and Ashlee, thus deducing that Angela and Melina were out;

    which they were some 5-10 minutes or so later !!!!!

  2. @Chris B…what’s with the spoiler for Downton Abbey? Thanks so much from those yet to watch it… Maybe you could get a gig with 7’s promo dept?

  3. i didn’t see it but that would have really sucked, i was pretty shocked when Mick & matt got through. I was sure, and hoping, Ashlee & sophia had it, I will miss them.

  4. It’s annoying for fans of the show but I bet every one of those twits who vented their rage thru their phone will be watching again tonight. Seven have nothing to worry about and little incentive to not do it again.

  5. Let me see – the judges showered Ashley and Sophia’s dishes as being excellent, delicious, the best.

    And they called Matt and Mike’s dishes as very good.

    Obviously the rumors that Ashley and Sophia being paid actors are looking truer by the minute.

    Look forward to ACA destroying MKR with this revelation this week.

  6. Adelaide Now reports that a Seven spokesperson apologised for the ad scheduling error and they were “trying to establish which states” it appeared in.

  7. All the Networks seem to take us viewers for granted. Last night at the very emotional end of Downton Abbey, Seven cut straight into a promo for their new drama. Could they not have let us feel something for the passing of Matthew Crawley be making that kind of transition a little smoother? We get smashed with promos that seem like they’ve been written by 12 years olds, and placed in commercial breaks by 4 year olds. Ten treats The Good Wife like it’s a bad smell. Gem advertisers Super Nanny and Embarrassing Bodies – and other programs – as “New” when the episodes aren’t. Tonight, Nine’s House Husbands has Craig McLaughlan starring in an important role and twist to the series, but … of all the promos I’ve seen for HH, he hasn’t been featured in one of them. (Craig’s been brilliant on the ABC recently!) At least we can enjoy the comfort that they’re all “first with the news”.

  8. Well the best news, of course, was the elimination of the frightful Sophia and whatshername. Funny though, there was no comment whatsoever from them after elimination. Normally those who go give a little speech about how wonderful the whole experience was etc etc. But nothing from these two – wham – gone. Maybe they bagged the whole show !

  9. As I record all my programming & commence watching at a minimum of half hour after the show has commenced I fast forward thru the commercials anyway, so I completely missed the ad announcing the winners of comeback kitchen.

  10. Let this be a lesson for the networks that are running way too many promos. It’s so annoying whenever they start promoting the next show/episode before the current one ends. MKR has featured spoilers in promos on a couple of other occasions this season but this was teh worst. This effort would have damaged the ratings for last night’s show and with ratings being so close, may affect their whole week.

  11. Today Tonight last Friday also gave it away that Kerry and Craig were eliminated prior to the restaurant opening when they showed footage of the other 3 teams preparing their dishes for customers.
