Bumped: House Husbands, Celebrity Apprentice. Gone: The Mentalist.

Nine's House Husbands is going back to its original Sunday timeslot and Celebrity Apprentice has another new time.

HHB3_5_52_53-351Nine’s House Husbands is going back to its original Sunday timeslot.

This would appear to be as a result of Live shows for The Voice starting on Monday week and the return of The Block.

This means House Husbands is out next week and returning at 8:30pm Sunday May 19. The Mentalist is now out of schedule with two episodes remaining in the series.

Next Monday at 9pm Nine screens the movie Knight and Day.

Meanwhile Celebrity Apprentice will air at 9pm next Tuesday. This becomes the third timeslot for the show in 3 weeks, following 8:40pm last week and 8pm tonight.

  1. I thought Nine would have strategized better while The Voice was in the schedule. Nine should have kept House Husbands on Sundays from the beginning, they could have gotten a jump on the Sunday competition. But a timeslot change now with new competition is not good news for the show.

  2. The ch9 merry go round continues…… what a joke. Just show the last 2 episode of The Mentalist and also what happens with CSI. I suppose that is out for good as well. You wonder why people watch shows by other means.

  3. @tvf putting Footy Classified on any earlier than 10.30 is pointless as the game is still on.
@Carole so are they EPs of PoI I haven’t seen yet here?

  4. Im a little disappointed house husbands are going up against a place to call home. 2 really good aussie shows going up against each other.

  5. Footy classified is awfully late at 11.30pm next Monday. I know there is a footy game on but it would be finished well before 11.30pm. Also noticed private practice is back on next monday scheduled at 11pm in Melbourne.

  6. Hasn’t Person of Interest been at 10.45 and repeats for 2-3 weeks?
Its been airing like that in Tas at any rate.
Im assuming the movie on Mon is because of an AFL game screening 7.30-11.
Or is 9 trying to kill everything else (incl its own) by having The Block finishing randomly every night?

  7. Oh FFS, it’s the season finale of PoI, one of the very few shows that I watch on Nine. Could they not have played it at 9pm (or 9:13)? Nine really don’t appear to give a sh!t about fans of these types of programs. Their treatment of both PoI and The Mentalist when they have been doing ok numbers has been appalling.

  8. Gee, thanks Ch9 … Not!
“The Mentalist” is the only thing I watch on Ch9.
    Two episodes to go?
    Couldn’t you wait till then?
    Really disappointed!

Also, Ch9, 7, 10 and every other channel,
do you realize that Not everyone likes reality shows?
You really need to think about that & cater for everyone.

  9. The Mentalist has already finished in the US.
Person of Interest is also dumped in the changes.

They have been dumped to make way for long The Voice episodes in an attempt by Channel 9 to win the ratings week. It will leave Nine with fragments of The Mentalist, POI and TBBT though, their only US shows that have rated this year, apart from Arrow.

Person of Interest’s ratings got as high as 640k when it was starting at 9:30pm with a suitable lead in. Pairing it with House Husbands and starting it after 9:50pm saw them halve into the 300s.

Repeats did not damage The Mentalist. It was rating 500k last season and not much better this season. Staggering it behind The Voice and 60 Minutes boosted its ratings upto 650k.

The Mentalist is now just very formulaic. They also made mistakes like the FBI subplot with a miscast Polly Walker which they dropped and starting S5 with a cheap bottle episode.

The Red John dragging out is beyond a joke. The last RJ episode with Jane just letting Loreai murder all his leads, then die taking the secret with her so they could drag it out some more was pathetic. It is no wonder the show only just got renewed.

The audience has just found other things to watch.

  10. I don’t watch any of these shows, but I’d be annoyed if I did with all these time changes. So I guess 60 Minutes is out of the schedule also?

  11. Of course Nine gets rid of The Mentalist with two more episodes to go! They love not caring for their audience. Next week’s episode was meant to resolve a longstanding mystery (what’s in LaRoche’s tupperwear container) and the following week is the finale with the Red John list being narrowed down. This is one of the only shows I watch on Nine any more and one of the few I watch on TV at all. Well, Nine, you’ve lost me for good now…

  12. Soooooo pissed off with channel 9 for this. Only 2 episodes till the season finale, same with Person of Interest, and they pull them. What the hell is wrong with them? Just show them already!!!!!!!

  13. Channel 9 your handling of The Mentalist is disgraceful. With two episodes left you could have left it at 9:30. It is rating poorly because you schedule so any repeats.
Plus moving House Husbands is also a bad decision. People get use to a timeslot and if they like the show will watch it. Moving drama shows around for Reality will continue to damage your reputation and people will not give new shows a go!
