Kath & Kimderella movie (late) on Seven
9:45pm on a Tuesday? What kind of madness is this?

Next week Seven screens the premiere movie Kath & Kimderella.
Bizarrely, the film will begin at 9:45pm next Tuesday night.
It won’t finish until 11:40pm. On a school night.
What kind of madness is this?
I was no fan of The Kath & Kim Kountdown but this is a first-run movie that should be playing at 8:30 somewhere. If not on a Sunday then how about in place of that dreadful Mrs. Brown’s Boys?
Seven will win the night with this for sure, but it must be resigned to the fact that much of the audience will Timeshift this one on PVRs.

I think Ch7 have stuffed up any audience for Kath & Kimderella but having the Kath and Kim Kountdown. People who saw the Kountdown may think the movie is just another compilation. Too many K’s.
Channel Seven are unbelievably stupid. I’m not the biggest fan of Kath & Kim, but I did watch the entirety of season 4 when it premiered (as well as the reruns that followed). I’m keen on seeing the movie, but not at that ridiculous timeslot.
What the hell were they thinking? It’s a PG rated first-run movie. It should be airing at a 7.30pm timeslot.
Yes, the Kath and Kim Kountdown was rubbish. The movie should be in a decent timeslot like 8.30 or evn 7.30 if it’s PG.
@Darcey09 – hang on. Are you saying that you don’t like The Project? Your previous comments have been so ambiguous.
LOL. Poor Kath and Kim. How long did this article stay about them? 1, 2 comments.
Off topic…Speaking of out of date comedies…How is Citizen Khan going, ratings wise? I don’t watch it… Apparently the final ep is on 11:15 Thursday. Speaks for itself.
I watched Mrs Browns Boys once and thought it was fecking shite.
All of a sudden ch7 programmers are under pressure and instantly turn into headless chooks
Poss, I never said that Mrs Brown was good. I said it rates well. Feel free to watch whatever you like.
Darcey09, Reality tv rates its socks off but i am not going to watch it and ratings don’t make it good!
For the record I think Brendan O’Carroll is very talented and I laughed the first time. But I didn’t get the memo it was 1974. Comedy always divides us in ways that Drama does not. The show performs well for Seven. That is all.
I am with Mr Knox on this one Mrs Browns Boys is a shocker??…..but on the same note i have never watched Kath and Kim either.
Just my opinion, to each his own.
Of course the difference between Mrs Brown and the Project is that Mrs Brown gets good ratings.
And the other difference is I’m always going on about Mrs. Browns Boys.
Some don’t like Mrs Brown’s Boys – others don’t like the Project. Live & let live.
I agree with David here. I just don’t understand the attraction of Mrs. Browns Boys. Then again, I watch the AFL Footy Show on the same night, that gets roundly slammed, each to their own!
Maybe they’re putting it there as punishment for Sunday’s ratings?
Couldn’t agree with you more about Mrs Browns Boys. The jokes are predictable and lack of subtlety is perfect for kids in school though.
wow, what a difference a couple of weeks can make in television. Channel 7 has managed to turn their winning form into mish-mash of dodgy formats and poor scheduling. First Celebrity Splash, then the rip-off of ‘House rules’ and now they actually have a movie that will rate, despite the Kountdown disaster, and they don’t know what to do with it! This at least gives channel 10 a chance to grab a few stray disillusioned ex-ch 7 viewers.
“that dreadful Mrs. Brown’s Boys”
Insulted!!!
I agree, I do not understand the appeal of Mrs Browns Boys, perhaps as a 5 min skit but not an entire show.
I agree, Mrs Brown’s Boys is dreadful. Speak your mind David!
Terrible decision by Channel 7 here. And David – don’t knock Mrs Brown!!
Ouch I have been feckin slapped!
Never really followed K&K, even on ABC, might have actually watched more of the US version but this is a bad move for a first run movie.
Is Seven starting to loose it?
I agree that it’s crazy that a premiere movie is airing at 9:45pm, although Channel Seven has made a few strange scheduling decisions recently.
One thing I have a problem with is remarks like this, “If not on a Sunday then how about in place of that dreadful Mrs. Brown’s Boys?”. It annoys me when people think because they dislike a show, it means that the show should not air at all and that their favourite shows should air instead. The ratings suggest that Mrs Brown’s Boys get pretty good ratings for Seven so I would doubt they would muck around with one of a few things at the moment which is pretty stable scheduling wise
I want to see this movie but it is on too late for me so i will record it and btw David Dallas had been bumped to 11.30 on Thursdays
David, I couldn’t disagree with you more. Mrs Browns Boys is brilliant 🙂 Whats with all the hate from critics and the like?
But in the case of Kath and Kim, I do agree with you. Would be great Thu night viewing.
Kath and Kim I used to enjoy, but I think they are now past their used by date. I do agree that any first run movie should be at 8:30. I presume it was going to run after the Kountdown this sunday but was ditched due to the poor ratings of the last Kountdown.
Also what is wrong with Mrs Browns boys. It rates about 1 million every week and is a very enjoyable show. I can’t wait until the stage show next year. It isn’t for everybody so if you don’t like then don’t watch…simple.
Very weird! This deserves 830 for sure!
What’s happening over at Seven???
