A TEN spokesperson said described it as a “precautionary measure.”

  1. Well I love The Biggest Loser and I like it because they help people to have a good start on their future health. I hope it comes back next year.
And I hope Kevin is okay.

  2. I think this show is doing a lot of good. Most of these contestants simply are not in any sort of headspace to help themselves at home yet it turns them around to actually doing something rather than taking a surgical cheat way out. I’ve got a lot of respect for how the show is done and the changes it makes. However people must take responsibility for how they move forward, whether they take the lessons learned and the rare opportunity to live with a faster, hard earned weight loss, or whether they fall back to old habits. I find the show inspiring and I’ve never even had a weight problem.

  3. They’ve had several people get medical help and two go to hospital already this season. One contestant fractured his wrist really early on in a basketball session and has been in plaster the entire season…another injured a ligament in a workout and there’s been several collapses. It’s no secret that a good percentage of contestants do gain the weight back though our format has had more success than the US one (where contestants have accused it of encouraging anorexia)

  4. @Tvaddict- totally agree with your comment. I found it extremely worrying when Gerald was going up the hill in NZ with 40 plus kilos on his back & not being able to breathe properly. Take it easy guys & you’ll get there safely. Good luck Kevin.

  5. Its only a matter of time before someone on this show is seriously injured or dies, i hope it gets the axe before that happens, i’m amazed it hasn’t already as they are pushing very heavy unhealthy people to physical extremes.
Its an unhealthy way to lose weight & i bet if they did a review of past contestants at least half would have regained alot of the weight they lost on the show. Slow & steady is the way to go for long term weight loss, not dangerous stunts like they do, but then it wouldn’t make very good ratings i guess.
Best wishes to you big Kev, hope you are ok & keep succeeding in your quest for better health.
