Q & A’s 5th anniversary

Video: Check out these highlights from 5 years of questions on ABC's discussion show.

2013-05-19_0148Q & A will celebrate its fifth anniversary this week with a special Sydney Writer’s Festival episode featuring:

Comedian and author Ruby Wax;
Author of ‘The Origins of Sex’ Faramerz Dabhoiwala;
Author of ‘A Beautiful Mind’ Sylvia Nasar;
Historian of India and Islam William Dalrymple; and
Journalist and commentator Mike Carlton.

Executive Producer Peter McEvoy says: “It’s great to reach this milestone but even better to know that Q & A is continuing to grow and develop. The adventure in democracy has pushed Q & A into discussions of science, religion and faith but it’s fitting that Q&A’s anniversary falls on the eve of the long-anticipated election campaign – when Q & A is at its best. In the lead up to September 14, we will continue to debate the issues that matter most to the public and encourage more Australians to take an active role in politics and put their leaders to the test, by asking questions that deserve to be answered.”

9:35pm Monday on ABC1 and simulcast on ABC News 24.

  1. I think QANDA clearly lives up to “adventure in democracy” with the David Hicks and Julian Assange questions.
    People dont realise how lucky we are to be able to have a show like this

  2. “Adventure in democracy”. True. A program like Q&A couldn’t exist in many other countries – near neighbours such as Fiji, PNG, Indonesia, Thailand, Burma, Vietnam, Pakistan, UAE, etc., etc.
    Now, if only Tony Abbott would accept the outstanding invitation to appear……
