Digital TVs, set-top boxes and PVRs s in Perth must be retuned today as part of Australia’s switch to digital-only TV (not great timing with Eurovision really!).
All SBS TV services will change frequency on different dates in different cities, due to be completed by the end of 2014.

@EvanOnTheGC – the simulcast period finished earlier today. All I got for SBS was “No signal” until I rescanned.
Also, I noticed that there is now a second transmitter (relay) in Perth that seems to be rebroadcasting all of the digital streams in the UHF band around channels 50-55. So now every LCN is listed twice.
I didn’t have SBS when I got home tonight so people in Perth definitely need to re-tune.
@EvanOnTheGC Perth viewers will need to retune for SBS from today as the one-month simulcast period started on 16 April (just after their analogue shutdown) and ends today.
Done! They had an article in The West Australian as well.
Thanks Evan, Tommo.
Thank you so very much for alerting me to this, David. I love the way you know Australia still exists West of Wagga Wagga.
Your blog continues to go from strength to strength. 🙂
There is no need for Perth residents to retune today specifically. SBS will be simulcast for a month on both the old and new channels.
