Splashdown for Seven reality

Ratings: Celebrity Splash finishes fourth in its timeslot, won by ABC1, and House Rules slips further.

2013-05-17_0922Seven’s problems with Reality TV continued last night with House Rules slipping further and the Grand Final of Celebrity Splash fourth in its timeslot.

Celebrity Splash was won by “cricketeer” Andrew Symonds with 650,000 average for the show. “This makes all the effort and all the pain worthwhile,” he said.

House Rules fared marginally better with 687,000 but it was down on the preceding night once again.

Nine won another night and will win the week.

Nine network share was 29.6% then Seven 25.5%, ABC 19.2%, TEN 19.1% and SBS 6.6%.

Nine News led the night for Nine with 1.3m then A Current Affair (1.06m), The Block (1.04m / 853,000),  The Footy Show (839,000), Hot Seat (761,000). An Arrow repeat was 279,000.

Seven News was 1.24m for Seven then Today Tonight (969,000), Home and Away (874,000), House Rules (687,000), Celebrity Splash (650,000), Deal or No Deal (489,000) and Mrs. Brown’s Boys (481,000 / 377,000).

ABC News (981,000) led ABC1. Our Queen won its timeslot with an excellent 903,000. 7:30 was 647,000 then Budget: Right of Reply was 609,000, Stephen Fry: Gadget Man was 600,000. Time Team was 327,000.

Law and Order: SVU was 675,000 / 575,000 for TEN followed by TEN News (670,000),  The Project (483,000), Jamie’s 15 Minute Meals stiffed at 414,000 / 469,000. The Simpsons was 357,000.

The final Gourmet Farmer was 422,000 for SBS ONE then Shane Delia’s Spice Journey was 367,000, The Spice Trip was 223,000, World News Australia was 193,000 and One Born Every Minute USA was 167,000.

Big Bang Theory led multichannels with 358,000.

ABC News Breakfast: 52,000 / 25,000

  1. Seriously Our Queen won it’s time slot, not that there is anything wrong with that. It was a great special and shows the commercial networks you don’t need 2nd rate celebrities jumping into a pool to make good TV.
