American networks are about to enter their annual Upfronts, when they announce new shows.

American networks are about to enter their annual Upfronts, when they announce new shows.
Advertisers and media will get to hear about which new shows will drive their Fall seasons in September, and also which may be axed. Many will still be revealed prior to these dates.
This is the equivalent of Australian networks doing annual launches ahead of February ratings, although increasingly the “Upfronts” phrase is now used here too. Amongst them is the US version of Rake on FOX.
Here are the dates for the big guns, although with the international dateline, these are one day behind in Australia (ie. May 13 US becomes May 14 AU).
TV Tonight will again be reporting dedicated Upfronts news as it is announced.

Our networks have a bit of catching up to do.
The US upfronts lock in time slots and premiere dates a glorious 4 months in advance.
Our networks cant even lock in air dates 4 days in advance (yes, I mean you channel 9).
And all the shows announced at US upfronts actually appear on air (reef doctors… Anyone?)
