US comedy Eastbound and Down will end with its fourth season.
News of the series’ impending finish comes a day ahead of production resuming for HBO.
The series was rumoured to be ending its run following its third season, with star Danny McBride even saying as much at a panel discussion at the 2012 PaleyFest.
Eastbound‘s fourth season premiere in the US in September.

I don’t know if axed is really the right word here. The creators were done with the show after season three, it was HBO who convinced them to make one more season.
I’m not sure where they’ll take the show as the season 3 finish did complete the main story line. No matter, I look forward to some more of Kenny’s insights into life. He is a unique character.
