Rob McKnight to produce TEN morning show

Head of Nine's news and current affairs promos dept. has been poached to become EP of TEN's upcoming morning show.

IMG_5399Rob McKnight, currently head of Nine’s news and current affairs promos department, has been poached to become Executive Producer of TEN’s upcoming morning show.

The appointment follows the recent hiring of Ita Buttrose for the panel-based morning show.

McKnight has recently been fronting 9StreamLive programmes online, but has 20 years industry experience including as producer, editor and director.

TEN’s Director of Morning Television, Adam Boland, worked with McKnight for many years at Seven on Sunrise.

“Rob’s appointment shows we are super keen to get the absolute best in the business. More to come,” said Boland.

McKnight told TV Tonight, “I’m very excited about this move to TEN with Bolo. He is a creative genius and I absolutely love working with him. This show will be very different to what’s currently on offer and I can’t wait for viewers to see what we have in store.”

Adam Boland is expected to executive produce the additional breakfast show, with some speculation both could be produced from a beach-front studio in Manly.

  1. All this time and money on a breakfast show!

    Another disaster waiting to happen.

The new Ten management have obviously learnt nothing from the previous mob.

  2. all they need to do now is get the promos right and actually start on the scheduled start date and not a few days earlier without warning. (breakfast)
