TEN teams with Pride of Australia again

TEN has renewed its partnership with News Limited's community campaign for the second year.

2013-06-18_0003TEN has renewed its partnership with News Limited’s Pride of Australia community campaign for the second year.

Now in its ninth year, the campaign endeavours to honour “Australia’s unsung grassroots heroes across a range of categories including courage, community spirit, care and compassion, heroism and outstanding bravery.”

It has previously aired on Foxtel.

Kim Williams, CEO News Ltd said: “Pride of Australia recognises Australians who through their courageous often unacknowledged actions make our country a better place.

“In our role as one of Australia’s leading media companies, it is important that we continue to support and champion communities around our nation. Over its nine years, Pride of Australia has become a valuable initiative in saluting people whose stories humble us.

“Throughout its history, we’ve shared more than 19,000 stories and awarded more than 550 medals as our consumers became captivated by accounts of hope, inspiration, courage and triumph over adversity. We will continue to tell these remarkable tales across our network of print and digital mastheads.

“The partnership with Network TEN extends the connection and engagement the program shares with the community. I’m delighted that it is returning as media partner.”

TEN will broadcast the national awards ceremony and create awareness through local news, community service announcements and on The Project. Sandra Sully will continue her role as national ambassador for the program.

TEN CEO Hamish McLennan said: “Pride of Australia is an important initiative and TEN is very proud to be part of it again this year.

Pride of Australia shines a light on our unsung heroes, the people who walk among us every day and who are rarely recognised for their selfless contributions to our community.

“Their stories are humbling, moving and inspiring. We are honoured to work with News Limited to bring their stories
to all Australians,” he said.

Nominations are now open.
