28 Comments:

  1. Am loving nicks/Jason research and theories on the 7 dominance in SA/WA.
David Knox: do you think an updated feature story on this topic is warranted?
I too find the situation fascinating. I also am aware of the history regarding Channel 7’s traditional popularity but feel there is more to it considering the lead is getting bigger more recently – and that the multi channel landscape is surely changing things now.
Now that Nine is buying Perth/Adelaide I would love a new opinion piece researched by Knoxy 🙂

  2. @Pertinax.. When people say it’s not complicated usually it is.To attribute Seven’s dominance to an impression formulated 30 years ago,is to disregard the fact that there’s been tracts of that time when Nine actually held sway in Perth. At the very least, they were much more competitive with Seven than now. So only in part can it be vestigial…Seven’s taken a big lead out there and been increasing it lately.Maybe when Nine gets to own that station they’ll set about to turn things around…until they do Seven can’t help but win the ratings war with the huge leg up Perth gives them.

  3. The Mole needs to just go back to the Naughties where it belongs. Shura Taft must regret leaving Nine. I like him but his career is sunk unless Seven can do A House Rules on it.
Still predict a huge viewer promotion will be rolled out this week to increase viewers. Hey it worked for House Rules.
