Adventurer Simon Reeve has brought us travel shows in Cuba, the Indian Ocean and the Tropic of Capricorn.
Now he tackles Australia from the Northern Territory to Perth, Port Lincoln and beyond in Australia with Simon Reeve.
In this new three-part series, renowned adventure journalist Simon Reeve embarks on an epic adventure across Australia. On his journey, Simon encounters an extraordinary array of people and exotic wildlife, offering a unique insight into life in Australia.
Simon kicks off the series in the magnificent ‘red centre’ of the continent, before travelling through South Australia and on, via the India Pacific railway, to the west coast city of Perth. Along the way, he joins a rancher in the parched outback and takes part in a spectacular camel round-up. This is part of an ongoing effort to stop the damaging spread of up to a million feral camels across the country.
Simon also passes through South Australia’s wine country and the lucrative tuna fishing city of Port Lincoln, where he investigates the impact these trades are having on the environment. In Western Australia, he joins a 21st century gold rush – part of the resource boom that has made Australia one of the richest countries in the world.
Finally in Perth, Simon discovers a full scale British invasion. Working in a mine or driving a lorry can earn one a salary of over a hundred thousand dollars a year, as evidenced when Simon meets a former binman from Hull who is now living the dream, with a beautiful house in the sun, private pool and his very own boat.
Australia with Simon Reeve starts 8:30pm tonight on SBS ONE.

Watch out for Episode 3 in this series, it is a doozy. Simon visits the Gold Coast and interviews Ferret and the rest of The Finks MC. Certainly not the image Gold Coast Tourism would like to convey.
Cool!
A message to Simon Reeve. This time don’t skip over Rockhampton like you did in the series Tropic of Capricorn.
