Beyond opens Perth office

Perth production community gets a boost with Beyond setting up Beyond West.

2013-07-16_1418Beyond Screen Productions (BSP) has opened an office in Perth, to be known as Beyond West.

A statement from Beyond says:

Beyond West has recently finalised co-development and production agreements with three WA based producers on a slate of projects, covering a range of genres. The producers are Melissa Kelly at Factor 30 Films, Kelrick Martin at Spear Point Productions, and Russell Vines at Zinc Finger.

Under the arrangement, BSP will provide production advice and legal, accounting and management support during the development phase. Beyond West will act as co-producer on each project produced with Beyond International providing sales and marketing support through its offices and staff in Ireland, the UK and USA.

Beyond International Limited CEO and Managing Director Mikael Borglund said today, “ We have been impressed by the growing pool of talented filmmakers in the West for some time, and have been examining ways to do more work there, both through co-productions, and in international distribution. Opening an office in Perth will allow us to work much more closely with local producers.”

Ian Booth, CEO of Screen West said “We welcome the arrival of Beyond in WA as an important step in building the WA production community. Beyond will be an invaluable partner to local producers.”

Harry Bardwell will be the WA executive producer for the slate of co-productions and coordinate business between WA producers and Beyond’s Sydney office. Ron Saunders will be executive producer for Beyond.
