A short-cropped Matt Smith appeared on stage at Royal Albert Hall for the performance of Doctor Who at the BBC Proms, as part of the sci-fi’s 50th Anniversary celebrations.

Jenna Coleman (Clara), the fifth Doctor Peter Davison and Carole Ann Ford, who played the first companion Susan in 1963, also appeared, with Murray Gold‘s score performed by the BBC National Orchestra of Wales and London Philharmonic Choir.

Smith has trimmed his hair for a role in the film How To Catch A Monster, directed by Ryan Gosling.

The Doctor Who Symphonic Spectacular has already been performed in Sydney and Melbourne.

  1. You can hear the concert by going to the BBC Proms site and listening to it on the BBC iPlayer. Audio isn’t region locked, so anyone can hear it.
