Former ABC Media Watch host Jonathan Holmes is joining The Age and The Sydney Morning Herald.
MediaWeek reports from August, he will write regular columns on the media, including a weekly analysis during the election campaign.
He recently told TV Tonight, “At this stage I’m just going to see what happens inside me and outside me. I don’t feel a huge (need to) rush into anything else at the moment.”
Holmes presented Media Watch for five and a half years on the ABC.
Let’s hope Paul Barry doesn’t need to point out any errors!

@tonyhar just like Pru Goward? An ex ABC staffer who is now a Minister in the Liberal/National NSW State Government.
Next stop, a safe Labor seat – if there is one. He has the hypocritical credentials.
It’s a little strange since some nights on Media Watch he was writing Fairfax’s obituary. To me, he made it sound like they only had a couple of years to live. Now he’s working for ’em? The only stranger thing would be if he started working for The Australian! 😉
