Mansion fit for a Bachelor

The Bachelor Australia begins filming today in a lavish French provincial mansion in Bayview.

2013-07-09_0034The Bachelor Australia begins filming today in Sydney according to a report in the Daily Telegraph.

Residents in Minkara Rd in Bayview have been advised filming at a lavish French provincial mansion called La Joie de Vivre,
takes place from July 9 to September 15. There will be an estimated 23 days of filming over that period.

The mansion which once belonged to former freight tycoon Gregory Poche was listed on Domain.com.au in 2010:

French provincial ‘La Joire de Vivre’ is set on 4,091sqm of grounds, and has impressive 180 degree Pittwater views. The grand entrance foyer leads into a home perfect for entertaining. The home features a huge living room with towering ceilings, formal dining room, family room, casual living room, home office and games room, a commercial grade kitchen with butler’s pantry. Generous bedroom suites, luxurious bathrooms, and a wine cellar. Outside you will find sandstone terraces, commercial style wet bar, heated pool and spa, there is also a sauna, gymnasium, and change rooms, a championship size tennis court and pavilion or guest retreat. Six cars fit in the lock-up garage and there is also a huge storeroom.

Pittwater Council has also confirmed they had approved an application to do two days filming on public land next week, but no permit is required for private property.

The local adaptation of The Bachelor is being filmed by Shine Australia for TEN -but so far the identity of the lucky lad has been kept well under wraps.

Next week TEN has their Winter Launch to media -where they will presumably present their hunk.
