Oops. Vampire Murder for real?

Get out the garlic. News bulletins neglect to qualify an alleged vampire killer as an alleged "vampire killer."

1vampNews bulletins in Melbourne reporting the arrival of an accused killer extradited from Perth were quick to call him an accused vampire killer rather then an accused killer of a self-proclaimed ‘vampire.’

Mark Adrian Perry, 45, is charged with murdering male gigolo Shane Chartres-Abbott in 2003. Chartres-Abbott once claimed to have been a 200 year old vampire. Perry was arrested in the Perth suburb of Morley after evading police for ten years.

But news bulletins have apparently become so complacent at reporting on the story that they’ve forgotten to qualify that Perry is the alleged killer of a self-proclaimed “vampire.”

Nine News yesterday simply reported that a vampire gigolo killer had been extradited from Perth. A TEN News update also told viewers he was a vampire murder suspect.

Latecomers to the story might be a little alarmed that True Blood has apparently descended upon Melbourne.
