Sherlock cast sworn to secrecy

The cast of Sherlock have been banned from sharing plot details with family and friends.

2013-07-09_0120It’s something Alfred Hitchcock made his cast pledge on the first day of filming Psycho: to swear an oath not to reveal the film’s secrets.

And now the cast of Sherlock have been banned from sharing plot details with family and friends.

Andrew Scott, who plays arch-enemy Moriarty, told the Sunday Mirror, “If I told you what happens they would kill me. I never guessed how the last episode would end. It even surprised me.

“It has been fantastic filming the new series but we have all been banned from telling our families or friends what is in the scripts. We are not allowed to speak to anyone.

“I don’t think everyone thought it would be so successful. I can see it still on TV in 20 years as we all started working on it very young.”

The third series is expected to be screened in the UK autumn.

Given we’re all dying to know how Sherlock survived that season two fall, I sure hope Nine is ready to fast-track this one.

  1. Thank you for this story. I don’t know if Nine will see this but I love this series and I hope they show it as soon as practical. As I’d hate to get spoiled. I also hope you’ll warn people if an article contains spoilers like you did with Downton Abbey. I appreciate it. Thank you even though I guessed what the spoiler was.

*Warning Series 2 discussion below could be dangerous to read*

As for whether Benedict Cumberbatch being in it is a spoiler or not. The audience saw Sherlock watching over John (Dr Watson ) at the end. So we know he did some sort of trick. So it wouldn’t be.

  2. The first season was brilliant. The second was practically flawless.
I can’t tell you how excited i am about the new season!
I actually get “giddy” when i think about it being back soon lol Not sure if that says more about the show or me!

This did pretty well for Nine, so they would have to be stupid not to relish in (and use) the publicity that will surround it’s premier in the UK. It’s sure to be trending worldwide at the time.
Plus with a show like this, which has such a cult-like following, people won’t bother waiting. You don’t fast-track it, then you will lose them and they’ll just watch it online.
