12 Comments:

  1. @ Nicks – good comments and so true. Finally the networks as well as some viewers are using the extra channels in a smart way. GEM is HD and that is where sport belongs. Ten set up ONE too early but now with so many HD capable devices tuning in TEN must show 20/20 cricket on ONE and the Winter Olympics as well. Next step is exactly as you stated – provide different games or Olympic events on Main SD channel and on the HD channel. That will win viewer loyalty.

  2. Good job Nine. Just keep it up after the cricket with intersting shows in Primetime that may not work on Nine but can score viewers. They could even have the NRL on both channels at the same time on Friday nights so we can choose which game we want to watch live.

  3. matthutchinson10

Over 1 million people in Australia watched Aston Agar go from unkown to national hero in the space of two hours! amazing knock from the 19-year-old. Interestingly, the cricket didn’t seem to afffect the AFL footy show ratings at all.

  4. If you want a template on how to use your multi channels,Nine has just displayed it.They’ve had a great stroke of luck with the time difference and cricket starting at 7:30…but you know what? The winter Olympics in Sochi Russia ought to be really friendly time-wise for Ten too.A lot of events ought to be live in prime-time.Will Australians want to watch and can Ten use its channels as well?I really think it’s gonna work out well for Ten.Meanwhile with Nine clobbering Seven almost nightly nowadays, wonder how Seven feels to be on the receiving end for once?..lol

  5. BFGfromPerth

Wow, Gem out rates all of network Ten’s channels. They must be kicking themselves that they didn’t offer more for the cricket.
