  1. I just has the pleasure of watching the first episode tonight & I haven’t seen such a sweet, kind, tender, good natured program in a long time until now. Also, I’ve never read a more wrong comment on TV Tonight than the one posted by Filmlover99 below (& that’s saying something). Ricky… Wow! You continue to surprise & amaze me after all these years. I urge everyone here to iView it as soon as you can.

  2. filmlover99 – Not sure why you think they’re mocking the disabled when the laughing and joking you’re referring to is when out of character… Ricky Gervais is a pretty eccentric comedian but he has always treated Derek with seriousness and respect

Anyway, a fairly decent series – not their best work but enjoyable. I am a fan of Karl Pilkington but not in this though.

  3. What ever was Ricky Gervais thinking of? One of the most appalling series ever made. What made anybody think making fun of vulnerable and disabled people would be a good idea for a comedy series? I did stay with ep 1 but then I called it quits. From the “making of” special it’s obvious that Gervais and the main cast (mainly friends of Gervais) had a ball making it. They roll round in fits of hysterics at their own antics. Pity the jokes are not enjoyed by the viewers!

    1. Bugger me so it has. Thanks Derek. Not sure why it isn’t included as an ABC highlight. I don’t recall getting a preview disk -will have to check.

Newtaste: It’s not fast-tracked, it aired in the UK earlier this year.
