‘Jack Lassiter’ returns to Neighbours

Veteran performer Alan Hopgood returns to Erinsborough for a guest appearance as Jack Lassiter.

6717- Jack LassiterThe Lassiter’s name is getting a revival, of sorts, on Neighbours with the return of one of the series’ original characters Jack Lassiter played by veteran performer Alan Hopgood.

Hopgood, a respected industry writer and actor, will return for a guest appearance later this month.

His character took over the local pub in Erinsborough calling it Lassiters back in the 1980s.

Jack’s homecoming is to reconcile with his past actions by dispensing some of his wealth which will have the locals scrambling for a piece of the action.

“I thoroughly enjoyed returning to the set. In some ways things hadn’t changed and others it was very different which made it interesting,” said Alan. “It didn’t take long at all the settle back in, everyone made me feel very welcome.”

“It was terrific working with Stefan (Dennis) again who is so professional and I also enjoyed working with the new cast.”

Some of Hopgood’s writing credits include Alvin Purple and And the Big Men Fly.

He returns from 27th August.

  1. I enjoyed his character back in the early days on channel ten. I”m glad he’s coming back as the same character. He left the show with Des’ ex Andrea and her son Bradley, but I remember the actress who played Andrea came back briefly as an other character in the 90s which was dissapointing.

  2. Wow, he hasn’t been on the show since Helen Daniels was alive, she used to visit him in the Outback and paint with him. Be interesting to see him back again.

  3. Amazing. I’ve been enjoying the show’s nods to the past of late.
Hope they say what has become of Bradley and Andrea – and recall something embarrassing Des did.
