Koby cans Celebrity Splash appearance

"I really f***ing hated this show," Koby Abberton said on Instagram (a message deleted within minutes).

2013-08-07_0121In a case of take-the-money-and-run, surfer Koby Abberton took to Instagram yesterday to tell his 23,000 followers how much he hated appearing on Seven’s Celebrity Splash.

“I really f***ing hated this show,” he said, underneath a promotional picture of himself and Demi Harman.

“I look back on it and cringe. Made some good friends actually great friends but that was about it.

“I remember the director asked me to do something which I did and I was doing it I thought to myself, WOW that was a real low point in my life..”

Almost as much as it was a low point in our viewing, Koby, but which one of us got paid for it?

  1. He would have received a pretty good appearance fee for his participation and got his mug on national TV. He should shut up and be grateful he got the opportunity for it.

  2. Jade Ewan (2009 UK Eurovision entrant and now Sugababe) commented in the UK press this week as well about how much she hated her time on the UK version of this show, she did say the pay cheque for it was very good though.
With this and The Mole tanking this year for seven, lets hope they resurrect the Amazing Race for next year!

  3. Oh dear, I think I need more sleep or caffeine. I was thinking of SlideShow. In my defence, it’s difficult to tell one polished turd from another.

  4. I had to google this “celebrity”. He’s been found guilty of perverting the course of justice, jailed for assaulting a police officer in Hawaii, declared bankrupt.

And he considers this a low point?

ps – please look up celebrity in the dictionary, Channel Seven.

  5. @Anthony Mai – you can’t have watched it at all since it hasn’t been on yet. So you still have a chance to check out Abberton’s choice of attire.

  6. Guess this ‘celebrity’ should learn to only be a part of things he would enjoy doing, instead of merely taking the money. No sympathy at all for this ‘celebrity’!
