Oops. “Good evening. Tonight I’m going to sound like a drunk.”

Video: WIN News blooper as presenter tells viewers "Tonight I'm going to sound like a drunk."

Oops. Kerryn Johnston may have only been doing a technical rehearsal for WIN News Canberra, but this is apparently what went to air just after midnight…

There’s a big difference between Canberra News and News from Canberra. Canberrans rightly get miffed when they, Canberra and the ACT take the brunt of public opinion concerning the federal parliament and the federal bureaucracy. These two issues are not ‘local news’ for Canberrans. The roo cull most definitely is.

  2. I’m more shocked that the main stories of the day in Canberra our political capital are a roo cull, the fact it’s warm and rugby – we wouldn’t want to get bogged down in refugees or anything that actually matters would we!

  3. @Jason… Sorry mate you are wrong… One bulletin is live… They start recording at 415 every afternoon pal… Not the 230 like you suggest… And the Canberra bulletin is live… The late news is a repeat (doh, no they don’t sit there til midnight) and therefore the repeat bulletin must have a different opener, I assume, and that would be pre recorded… Hence this pre roll going to air… The person recording that and not erasing is the person I would be pointing finger at

  4. Four bulletins for Illawarra & the South Coast, the Riverina, the Central West, and Canberra are are recorded at WIN’s headquarters in Wollongong with the Illawarra & South Coast bulletin broadcast live. The Canberra bulletin cannot be “live”. They only have one studio in W’gong. They start recording around 2:30pm.

  5. Incorrect MHA, and leave it alone, who cares where the newsreader sits.. as long as the stories are local and are locally produced… i mean its not like they had a live studio crowd every night… and if it was a big deal… they wouldnt do it for heaps of other news services across all networks in all countries…. if it wasnt done this way now then theres a good chance they could do a Sth X and have no News at all. and just updates.

  6. So good to see WIN treats the Canberra viewers with the upmost respect. More so that this bulletin now comes out of Wollongong as of a few weeks ago. Not surprised that WIN News is now known as “In Wollongong Tonight”.

Has to be a Media Hub issue in not clipping up the record file properly and leaving a false take at the start. They do this alot, even on ABC programs sometimes too.
