Joel McHale’s The Soup has its 500th episode today with a live broadcast at 12 midday AEST on E! and a repeat at 8:30pm tonight.
For the first time ever, “The Soup” will be broadcast live across the globe. E! is also celebrating Joel McHale’s almost decade-long tenure as the charismatic and always hilarious host, helping turn Sunday nights into the destination for weekly recaps of the craziest moments that pop culture has to offer.
“I’m very excited to perform The Soup live. No television show has ever been broadcast this way before. We’re very excited to be at the forefront of this incredible technology,” said McHale.
“The Soup” has earned its rightful place in pop culture infamy by delivering sharp-witted humour, clever commentary and hilarious television clips that audiences have grown to love for over a decade. From train wreck celebrity couples to quirky animal hoarders, the series has become television’s answer for a satirical look at the week’s biggest headlines in Hollywood and most mockable moments in entertainment.
In addition to weekly episodes, the series has expanded into multiple platforms including: heavy social media integration with Facebook (www.facebook.com/thesoup) and Twitter (@TheSoup), the recent spin-off special, The Soup Investigates hosted by Joel McHale, which dove into the Hollywood vortex to examine pop culture mysteries, celebrity rumours and the most shocking tabloid claims through tongue-in-cheek investigative reporting; and the popular, kinda-sorta-depending-on-how-we-feel annual The Soup Awards. With an impressive roster of celebrity guest appearances and these ever expanding digital destinations, “The Soup” continues to thrive on the pulse of pop culture while mocking it all the way.
Live 12 midday Thursday, August 22nd , with repeat at 8:30pm on E!

Love The Soup. I remember the old “It’s Miley!” days.
I liked Lou Diamond Phillips plugging La Bamba about 26 years later
I wanted to watch it live but Foxtel Go doesn’t have E! streaming via it’s new app. The 8:30pm replay won’t have the same affect.. :(
