2013-09-02_1508Good news for Survivor fans with GO! set to fast-track the show from Thursday, September 19 -within hours of its US premiere.

This is the second time this year GO! has fast-tracked the show for Australian fans, after a checkered history of seasons delivered both fast and slow.

Nine is yet to confirm the timeslot.

Direct from the United States, Survivor: Blood vs. Water will feature castaways who have appeared in former seasons given a second chance at the million-dollar prize. But this time they won’t be coming alone.

Each former player will be competing with – and ultimately up against – their loved ones. Alliances will be tested and bonds broken as mothers, brothers, spouses and partners are pitted against each other in an effort to outwit, outlast, outplay and be crowned the Sole Survivor.

Will the returning players use their experience in the game to help their partners, or will they leave them to fend for themselves?

Survivor: Blood vs. Water will see the return of Redemption Island, where eliminated castaways can seek redemption and come back for a chance to win the million-dollar prize. But this time it’s down to their loved ones, who will be forced to choose to “save” their partner by switching places with them and allowing the partner to re-enter the game.

The castaways include former Heroes vs. Villains player Tyson Apostol (34) who is joined by his girlfriend Rachel Foulger (33), while Kat Edorsson (23) from Survivor: One World has boyfriend Hayden Moss (26) along for the adventure.

Keeping things in the family, Aras Baskauskas (31), winner of Survivor: Panama, brings along his brother Vytas (33); Laura Morett (43) from Survivor: Samoa has daughter Ciera Eastin (24) in tow; Gervase Peterson (43), last seen in Survivor: Borneo, competes with his niece Marissa Peterson (21); and Tina Wesson (52) with Katie Collins (25) make up the final mother-daughter pairing.

There are three married couples competing: Rupert Bonham, who won Survivor Fans vs. Favourites, with his wife Laura Boneham (44); Candice Cody (30), who has competed twice before, with her husband John (30); and Monica Culpepper (42) from Survivor: One World with husband Brad (44). They will be joined by Colton Cumbie (22) who was medically evacuated from Survivor: One World and his fiancé Caleb Bankston (26).

Hosted by Emmy Award winner Jeff Probst, the new series of Survivor is produced by Mark Burnett and Probst himself.

  1. Yay, great news, thanks for letting us know. Good on GO for doing this again. RC & her father were originally to play, but had to pull out at the last minute as her father when checked by the medic his blood pressure was way too high, so they had to helicopter in another pair of contestants.

  2. Yes!!! Can’t wait!!! So excited for this. Thanks for posting this. Oh and I think you made a mistake you said that Rupert Bonham won Fans vs Favorites when it was actually Parvity Shallow who won the first season and then John Cochran who won the second.
