Bear Grylls returns to Discovery

Bear Grylls Escape From HellAfter 18 months in hibear-nation, Bear Grylls is about to return to our screens with the first of three new shows exclusive to Discovery Channel.

Bear Grylls: Escape From Hell will air in November while Bear Grylls: Get Out Alive and Bear Grylls: Great Escapes will screen in 2014.

“I am super excited to be working with Discovery Channel again – where the Man vs. Wild journey began,” said Bear Grylls. “Bear Grylls: Escape From Hell will be intense—but that’s where the fun is! Man vs. Wild took me to some of the toughest climates and terrains in the world, and this new series is an exciting evolution of that. The aim is to follow incredible real-life survival stories and demonstrate dynamic life-saving know-how along the way.”

“We are thrilled to welcome Bear back to Discovery Channel,” said Mandy Pattinson, Senior Vice President, Australia, New Zealand and The Pacific Islands. “Bear is a hero of many, an expert in his field and the driving force behind the immensely popular survival genre for which Discovery Channel is known. We’re excited to announce these three new shows and be able to offer Australian STV audiences more of what they want; premiere and exclusive programs that can’t be seen anywhere else.”

First to premiere is Bear Grylls: Escape from Hell pairing Bear’s unique brand of survival knowledge and techniques with some of the most mind-blowing survival stories ever documented. Proving to be a must-see for adventure lovers around the world, it features compelling first hand testimony of real life survival stories from some of the most hostile environments on the planet. Bear relives these experiences and explains how these amazing people lived to tell their story, what could have happened if they didn’t get it right and how to survive if you find yourself in the same nightmare scenario.

Bear Grylls: Escape From Hell premieres Wednesday November 13 at 7:30pm (AEDT) exclusive to Discovery Channel.
