Big Brother housemates will vote in the Federal Election on Wednesday night.
Nine will screen exclusive video campaign messages from four party leaders, which will played to the housemates on Tuesday, and capture their reactions ahead of them lodging Postal Votes.
They include messages from Labor’s Kevin Rudd, Liberal’s Tony Abbott, Greens’ Christine Milne, and Palmer Party’s Clive Palmer.
TV Tonight understands Christine Milne is believed to be the only one to refer to the group as “housemates.”
Producers will give housemates 20 minutes to discuss each video message before subjecting them to the next. So far, none of them is aware an election is even looming this Saturday.
All housemates registered Postal Voting details prior to entering the house, except for Jade who is not on the Electoral Roll.
The votes of each housemate will remain private and Producers are unable to say how much of the drama will comprise Wednesday’s show until it unfolds.
It’s not clear how long housemates will have in between campaigns before being asked to vote, but it’s understood to all take place on Tuesday, which isn’t long to consider the various arguments. But it could give the show a breakout moment, especially if they react badly to any of the candidates.

Shouldn’t they be hearing from their local politicians in their own electorates also?
My understanding is they will get printed materials on their local seat candidates.
I think they should have been allowed to watch all the debates, news coverage etc, to allow them to make a clear decision.
I was wondering what was going to happen with the election. It will be interesting to see their reactions.
