Cameras roll on The Moodys
ABC1's Moody clan will be back in 2014, gathering for more dysfunctional family events.

The follow-up to ABC’s A Moody Christmas has begun filming in Sydney.
Now titled as The Moodys the eight-part series will follow the dysfunctional Moody family as they gather for family events over a single year.
Returning are Ian Meadows, Patrick Brammall, Jane Harber, Danny Adcock, Tina Bursill, Guy Edmonds, Darren Gilshenan, Rachel Gordon, and creator/writer Phil Lloyd.
New cast members will include Sacha Horler (Offspring, Crownies), Ryan Corr (Packed to the Rafters, Not Suitable for Children), and Jonny Pasvolsky (Home and Away, Underbelly, Mr and Mrs Murder).
According to a Press Release, in the new series “Dan (Ian Meadows) and Cora (Jane Harber) return home to Australia to set up house together. Now they are back Down Under, everything in their lives is topsy turvy. As they struggle to make ends meet, the Moody family home is up for sale; Sean’s (Patrick Brammall) funeral fireworks business is going great guns – literally; Maree (Tina Bursill) and Kevin (Danny Adcock) test the freewheeling lifestyle of the grey nomads; Bridget (Rachel Gordon) and Roger (Phil Lloyd) find out if there’s friendship after divorce; and Uncle Terry (Darren Gilshenan) is in a tangled love affair with Yvonne (Sacha Horler), a one-woman force of nature.”
“This series sees an expansion of the Moody’s world beyond the Christmas theme, providing many more relatable and typically Australian interactions which are rich fodder for comedy,” said Chloe Rickard, Jungleboys Series Producer.
Carole Sklan, ABC TV Head of Fiction, said: “We’re very excited that this series will see the Moodys escape the family home and embrace the wider world. Look out world!”
Trent O’Donnell and Phil Lloyd return as writers while O’Donnell and Scott Pickett will direct.
O’Donnell and Lloyd are also writing a US adaptation for the FOX Network.
The Moodys will air on ABC1 in 2014.

Ive read the scripts, Sacha Horla’s character is going to be fun!
This will be great! Loved the first series!
Light hearted comedy, dysfunctional family at it’s best and worst.
A bit off topic, but feel ABC sometimes gets cast-incestuous crossing lines so find some shows unrelatable, e.g. (Shane Jacobson & Pia Miranda and one of the twin girls all from The Time of our Lives) on It’s a Date last night.
Sean – It’s a Moody Christmas is Bess’s husband in Upper Middle Bogan (fantastic entertainment btw), again both ABC programs. Not an issue, just think we need some more fresh faces on our screen and no overlapping of same actors.
I found the original tested my patience, I like my comedy credible. Always happy to see Sacha Horler on screen.
