Former Home and Away star Chris Egan has been cast in Syfy’s new US pilot, Dominion.
The supernatural action drama is based on 2010 movie Legion.
But he’s not the only local face to land a role, with former Neighbours star Alan Dale also cast. US actor Tom Wisdom is also cast.
Egan will play Alex Lannen, a maverick soldier who learns that he is the saviour of humanity.
Deadline reports “Dominion picks up in the aftermath of a catastrophic war between an army of angels and mankind that has transformed the world. Set against a backdrop of the ultimate celestial battle as it touches down on earth, the series follows the perilous journey of Alex Lannen (Egan), a rebellious young soldier who discovers he’s the unlikely savior of humanity.”
Egan has previously had US work on Pretty/Handsome, Kings, Beauty and the Beast and Gothica.
Dale plays Rysen, the general who led the humans to victory against the angels during the Extermination War but is now ruler of Vega.
The pilot is set to begin shooting later this month in Cape Town, South Africa.

@onthedigitalspectrum Exactly what I was going to write! Let’s hope this “big break” takes.
I still miss Kings.
Chris Egan has got to be one of the most unluckiest men in Hollywood. He’s had a starring role in at least 6 pilots that haven’t made it, or got cut short in their first season. I hope this one goes well for him.
