He will be responsible for overseeing the company’s push into Asia as well as helping to expand WTFN’s branded and digital businesses.

WTFN produces such titles as The Living Room, Bondi Vet, Trishna & Krishna: The Quest for Separate Lives, Bollywood Star, Tony Robinson’s Time Walks and The People Speak.

Skinner spent six years at FremantleMedia’s Melbourne base, helping to develop the company’s branded content arm Spring.

“We are so fortunate to be able to lure a television executive with Tony’s experience and expertise to our company,” said CEO Daryl Talbot.

“Tony’s reputation in the industry is second to none and his extensive work in international media will be extremely valuable as we embark on the next growth phase of our business.

“We are also delighted that Tony’s unrivalled knowledge of game show production will complete the evolution of our production business so that WTFN is now able to offer our clients programs of every genre: documentary, reality, entertainment and drama.

“Few independent production companies in Australia can boast such an extensive offering led by some of the country’s best creative minds.”

Skinner added, “I have known Daryl and Steve for many years and commend them on the business they have built, and I am delighted to be joining WTFN at such an exciting time.

“We are embarking on a journey to grow the business both in Australia and into the Asian markets, and this excites me very much.

“Our industry is in rapid change and the ingenuity of the team, and agility of WTFN as a business, will make it possible for us to not only serve the very best of content to our current clients, but to also be at the forefront of the new world order of media.”

Earlier this year WTFN acquired drama production company The Film Company headed by producer Richard Keddie.
