German distributor Red Arrow International has picked up the format rights to Seven’s House Rules.
It’s a win for the Seven-devised format which defied early predictions to become a success story for the network, and now has the potential to be sold to other territories.
Earlier this year Sky Living HD in the UK purchased the format rights to My Kitchen Rules.
Red Arrow International (formerly SevenOne International) is part of ProSiebenSat.1′s Red Arrow Entertainment Group, incorporating 17 television production companies spanning nine countries.
Therese Hegarty, head of production and rights management at Seven, said of the show: “It totally captured the imagination of our audience and has also created a great deal of buzz internationally.”
A second season will air on Seven next year.

Congratulations to Channel Seven. Great to see an Australian format selling overseas. Well done to them!
I agree with MM. Great to see Australian formats traveling around the world!
Great to see Aussie programmes taking off in other countries instead of the other way around.
Great news. Good luck to them.
I do fear red tape would stop it before it even got started in the UK.
