Happy 75th birthday Ernie Sigley

Showbiz veteran Ernie Sigley turns 75 today.

Sigley may be semi-retired but he still performs occasional shows with longtime co-performer Denise Drysdale.

“I get out and I do things. I tidy up the garden. I enjoy that. And I read a lot. I’m busy,” he told 3AW‘s Denis Walter today.

“You feel good as you get older. If somebody says I don’t like you, you say ‘Pfft! Couldn’t care less!””

Sigley has had over 55 years in showbusiness, notably on Adelaide Tonight, The Ernie Sigley Show, Wheel of Fortune, In Melbourne Today and Radio 3AW.

Fondly known as “the little Aussie battler” he admits he still loves to laugh.

“But I laugh at the wrong things, that’s why I’m always in trouble.”
