Iron Man era ends on TEN
TEN confirms the end of surf lifesaving events but announces the Champions League Twenty20 cricket in India.

TEN has made two sporting announcements today.
Its long-running summer broadcasts of the Iron Man Surf Life Saving Series is no more after a decision by Surf Life Saving Australia to part company with Sports & Entertainment Ltd.
The network’s broadcast contract was with SEL, not with Surf Life Saving Australia.
TEN’s association with cereal-sponsored Iron Man events goes back to the 1980s, wth such names such as Grant Kenny, Guy Leech, Trevor Hendy and Ky Hurst.
It’s unclear if another network will partner for future events.
Meanwhile TEN has acquired exclusive television rights in Australia for the Karbonn Smart Champions League Twenty20 2013, taking place in India.
Over 20 matches will air live on TEN and ONE from Saturday, September 21, and be streamed live online.
With $6 million in prizemoney, the competition will include two Australian Big Bash League teams: the Perth Scorchers and the Brisbane Heat.

Craig Hutchison announced this morning on The Sunday Footy Show that Iron Man will now be seen on Channel 9.

wow, cricket lovers will be very happy at the moment. They’ve had a winter full of cricket on GEM from England, more state cricket to come on GEM in October under the new scheduling. The Big Bash on free-to-air for the first time this summer, and now the Champions League as well!
Hopefully Iron Man will partner directly with Ten. Is that a possibility?
But William, it’s not Ten it’s Surf Life Saving who have left SEL who provide Ten with the rights.

To the below commenters, the article says Iron Man ceased its contract with the broadcast company not with Ten, hence Iron Man is to blame not Ten.

Yay for Ten signing on for the Twenty20s but boo for culling the Iron Man Series. I actually liked it.
No one watches iron man anymore since they stopped wearing speedo’s! They killed the one good thing about their sport.
