Next month SBS 2 is launching a new live sports entertainment show, Thursday FC, as part of its A-League coverage.
Broadcast in front of a live studio audience, it will be hosted by comedian Matt Okine, joined by SBS Football Presenters Lucy Zelic and David Zdrilic.
The show will comprise entertainment, interviews, live performances, a look at upcoming games plus special guests from football, music and film with music provided by house band, Cartoon.
Head of Sport Ken Shipp said: “Thursday FC is unlike anything SBS has ever done before and a first for football in Australia. Targeted towards A-League fans as well as a broader audience demographic, the program will capture the human and entertaining side of the game and build anticipation for the live Hyundai A-League matches on SBS 2 on Friday nights.”
Premieres live on Thursday 10 October at 8:30pm on SBS 2
A-League game Sydney FC and Newcastle Jets on Friday 11 October at 7:00pm on SBS 2.

Really looking forward to this one – not sure about the name of the show though.
If Matt Okine’s appearance on The Back Page are anything to go by then this show will be terrible.
Well done to SBS for having this new show, along with the Friday night A-League matches, on SBS2. Without the afl/nrl footy shows and Friday night games (aka – the ”rival codes”) to compete against, I hope that sbs2 will have a spike in ratings,
