  1. Excellent I’ll be recording this on Ten and watching 30-40 minutes after its 8.30 start time so as to miss all the adverts 🙂 Great that I won’t have to use any quota on this one this season 😉

  2. Agree 100% GrumpyDyke. Don’t watch much on CH10, but their banners drive me crazy during the last two series I watched on there – ‘The Americans’ and ‘Elementary’.

Are they trying to force people to watch their shows by other methods – either illegally or waiting for the DVD????

Loved the first two series of Homeland so will probably give it a go.

  3. Great news, I was hoping this would be fast tracked. I’m looking forward to Hostages & The Blacklist too. Be interesting if it’s up against either of them.

  4. Fast-tracking = great. But making me sit through more and more ads during the show, plus more ad banners running during the show is not going to persuade me from watching this on TV.

  5. I loved this show and will definitely be watching. The last three weeks have been hell waiting for Aussie networks to start showing new content. Unfortunately for Ten, I am one of the 200k+ people Pertinax has mentioned that do the majority of their viewing timeshifted. But nevertheless, I will be watching.

  6. Homeland averaged 614k in the overnights for S2.
It averaged 668k when episodes were 13 days after the US and 663k when they were 6 days after the US, i.e. no different. Homeland’s main problem during S2 was that 250k people were recording it and watching it later in the week, not that people couldn’t watch it soon enough.

Of course when fast-tracking doesn’t work the answer is always more fast-tracking, so S3 is on same day as the US.

In S3’s favour is that the hunt for Brody looks more interesting than Brody’s family breaking up and off her meds Carrie chasing Nazir in S2. Against it is that Ten is getting murdered on Monday nights and it will be up against The Blacklist (plus Revenge or Scandal), The ABC’s strong current affairs lineup, something on Nine (I think BBT is more likely than Hostages which may go on Wednesday) and likely Supernatural on Eleven.

  7. Excellent move by Ten and good on them for confirming an airdate well in advance (as always). And at least I know it will start at a reasonable time and not “after X Factor.”

  8. Last night during “The X Factor: Australia”, Seven announced that the best new drama “The Blacklist” is coming to Mondays. You don’t need to be a neurosurgeon to realise they’re going to use it as counterprogramming, competing with “Homeland” on Ten and most likely “Hostages” on Nine. Viewers are spoiled for choice.
