Living Black is returning with a new format as Karla Grant chats one-on-one with prominent Australians.

Karla Grant - SBS TV Living Black HostLiving Black returns to SBS in October with a brand new series of one on-one intimate conversations with high profile Australians including Peter Garrett, Jack Thompson, Adam Goodes, Rachel Perkins, Bangarra’s Stephen and David Page, Yalmay Yunupingu, Kurtley Beale, Andrew “Twiggy” Forrest, Australia’s first Indigenous surgeon Dr Kelvin Kong.

In this fresh format for the program, host Karla Grant will sit down with prominent Australians from a diverse range of backgrounds including the arts, entertainment, politics, education, sport and health to discuss key Indigenous issues.

Celebrating its tenth year of broadcasting, the 2011 Deadly award-winning and 2012 and 2013 Deadly nominee Living Black is Australia’s leading Indigenous news and current affairs program.

Journeying around the country to tell vital stories relevant to all Australians and reporting on current issues from an Indigenous perspective.

“Following on from our exclusive interview with the Dalai Lama this year, I am looking forward to profiling leading Australians who have touched the lives of our people and delving deep into what really motivates them,” Karla Grant said.

“In this new series Living Black will aim to showcase the work of many who have influenced the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders and continue through their work to celebrate Indigenous achievements and work towards a positive future,” Grant continued.

From topical news and current affairs to examining important stories in more detail, as well as showcasing and celebrating Indigenous triumphs, Living Black is a platform that gives all Australians a place to learn more about the nation’s first peoples.
