The Worst Year Of My Life, Again: trailer

A lengthy trailer for ABC3's new local comedy series The Worst Year Of My Life, Again.

The Australian Children’s Television Foundation has released a lengthy trailer for ABC3’s new local comedy series The Worst Year Of My Life, Again.

This stars Ned Napier, Tiarnie Coupland and Laurence Boxhall.

No airdate has been announced yet.

They tell you school days are the best years of your life. But what if they weren’t? And what if you woke up one morning to discover you had to relive the most excruciating 12 months of high school all over again?

Alex King has had a horrible year – humiliated by his teachers, targeted by bullies and embarrassed by attempts to impress the most popular girl in school. So when he wakes up on his birthday to discover that somehow time has reset itself, he can’t believe he must relive every miserable moment of the past 12 months once more. Until his friends Simon Birch and Maddy Kent convince him he’s being offered a second chance and maybe this time round, he can get it right.

The digital channels don’t get the biggest audiences though and ABC1 doesn’t have enough new programming to fill its schedule. Quality first run Aussie programs like this should screen on ABC1 first then be repeated on the other channels. Why do we have repeats of overseas programs on ABC1 but not the Aussie stuff? Why do they debut shows on ABC2 and ABC3 then repeat them later on ABC1? It’s dumb.
Ten has the same problem with flagging ratings on Ten but will show repeats of show like The Simpsons but waste Aussie shows like Neighbours on Eleven where it attracts a smaller audience.

  2. @J Bar: I don’t get that put it on ABC1 to get a larger audience thing, if people have Digital it is not hard push 2 and 3 on a remote to watch it. Plus with Analogue completely gone everywhere by December 12th this year, those who don’t have digital now wouldn’t be able to watch it anyway.

It’s the same when people say put Neighbours back on TEN, is just as easy to push 1 and 1 on a remote as it is 1 and 0, so I really just don’t get this thing people have with digital channels (just as easy too watch on them as any other channel).

  3. I wish the ABC would run these quality Aussie series on ABC1 first so they could be enjoyed by a bigger audience and then repeat them on ABC3. How about returning them to the old Sunday morning slot, just before The Insiders? That would give these productions exposure to older viewers too who are waiting for the adult shows to start. Maybe even the pollies would get a better idea of what good work the ABC can produce for Aussie kids to ensure they keep being made.
