AACTA Awards return to TEN

The AACTA Awards will screen on TEN again next year -this time an hour earlier.

Photo1 (7)aactasThe AACTA Awards will screen on TEN again next year, on Thursday January 30th at The Star, Sydney.

This time they will have an 8:30pm start, an hour earlier than the version we had this year.

We also had a cutdown edition, with many recipients not afforded their moment to shine. Hopefully this can be remedied for 2014.

“The reception and ongoing support of AACTA and the AACTA Awards activities both here and abroad over the past two years has been magnificent,” says Academy president Geoffrey Rush.

International awards will also be presented at a ceremony in Los Angeles.

A host is yet to be announced.

  1. The AACTA TV awards should be very competitive this year.

Sadly it’s another weak year for Australian film. Of the 15 films submitted for consideration – there are very few films the public will know of. Look for The Rocket and Mystery Road to scoop the pool this year.

But I won’t be watching the telecast. Lost interest when they formed the AACTA and gave AFI members the cold shoulder.
